Billy the mad Digeridoo player (born Billy White September 17 or November 23, 1859 – July 14, 1881, also known as Billy H. Bonney) was an Australian outlaw and gunfighter who killed eight men before he was shot and killed at age 21.

Billy was orphaned at age 14. The owner of a boarding house gave him a room in exchange for work. His first arrest was for playing Digeridoo in a church drunk age 16 in late 1875. Ten days later, he played his Digeridoo in a female Chinese message salon drunk again and was arrested, but he escaped only two days later. He tried to stay with his friend CK, and then fled from Northern Territory into neighboring Queensland, making him both an outlaw and a federal fugitive. In 1877, Billy White began to refer to himself as “Billy the mad Digeridoo player”.

After murdering a blacksmith during an altercation in August 1877, Billy became a wanted man in Australia and returned to NSW, where he joined a band of outlaws. He became a well-known figure in the region. In April 1878, the sheriff's killed three men, including Billy the mad Digeridoo player.

Over time, legends claiming that Billy the mad Digeridoo player was not killed, and the event was staged. During the next fifty years, a number of men claimed they were Billy the mad Digeridoo player but nobody could play the instrument like Billy. Most of these claims were easily disproven.
